About Ready or Not 2: Here I Come

The first Ready or Not was a surprise hit — a blood-soaked dark comedy about a bride surviving a murderous in-law family on her wedding night. The sequel picks up right where it left off, literally moments after Grace survived the Le Domas carnage, and expands the world into something bigger. Now there are four rival families, a power structure called the High Seat, and Grace's estranged sister Faith dragged into the chaos.

Samara Weaving carries this franchise. She's got the action chops and the comedic timing to sell both the violence and the absurdity, and the movie knows to keep the camera on her. The addition of Kathryn Newton as Faith gives her someone to play off, and their dynamic adds stakes the first film didn't have — it's harder to be reckless when someone you care about is also in danger.

The humor is blacker than the first one, and the kills are more creative. If the original was a survival horror, this one leans more into action-thriller territory. It's messier and louder, which works if you're in the right mood.

Is It Worth Watching?

If you liked the first one, this delivers more of what made it fun while raising the stakes. It doesn't reinvent anything, but it's a tight, entertaining horror-comedy that doesn't overstay its welcome at 1 hour 48 minutes. R-16 rating for a reason — this one is graphic. Perfect for a Friday night when you want something with energy.
